Empuriabrava: Holidays 2024

That time has come round again, for another holiday to Empuriabrava! This charming coastal town in Catalonia, known as the "Venice of Spain" due to its extensive canal system, has been a significant part of our lives for many years. We first discovered this picturesque destination in late 2001, and it immediately captivated us with its unique blend of natural beauty, serene waterways, and vibrant local culture.

Our connection to Empuriabrava runs deep, as we spent a full decade living here, immersing ourselves in the community and embracing the Mediterranean lifestyle. The memories we created during those ten years are treasured, filled with the simple pleasures of beachside walks, sailing along the canals, and savoring the exquisite local cuisine. Each visit since then is more than just a holiday; it's a heartfelt return to a place that feels like home.

The anticipation of revisiting familiar streets, reconnecting with old friends, and discovering new facets of this beloved town never wanes. Empuriabrava holds a special place in our hearts, and every trip back is an opportunity to relive cherished moments and create new memories. The joy of stepping back into a place so rich with personal history is immeasurable, making each return to Empuriabrava not just a holiday, but a homecoming.

Since our last visit, much has changed.

The main changes are the people and the supermarkets! That’s it, it stays exactly how it should be.
